BLACK MILK – DEADLY MEDLEY (FT. ROYCE DA 5’9″ & ELZHI)(1)

August 25, 2010

Three of the D’s finest collaborate on this insane track from Black Milk’s upcoming project Album of The Year which drops September 14th. I gotta say Elzhi killed it the best on this one. His flow and style is just always impressive (just my opinion).

Zane One – “Zane One (L.A. Woman)”

To say that the art of hip-hop is in her blood would be a massive understatement if referring to Zane One. Zane is the last born daughter of a pastor/poet as well as sister and cousin to the members of the legendary Los Angeles underground group LPG. She has opened for Cody Chestnut, and wrote songs alongside John Villa Lobos. With 20 years of hip-hop under her belt, countless shows, classic projects and a strong, unique sense of fashion, Zane will not only remind you why female emcees belong in the game, but also how aggressive and skillful artistry can manifest where you least expect it. An example of that artistry is available now in the form of Zane One (L.A. Woman), Zane One’s debut album, courtesy of AudioSketchBook / End Of Earth Records.

Andreya Triana – ‘A Town Called Obsolete’ (Official Video)

I’ve never heard of Andreya Triana before today and the web seems to be buzzing about this soulful singer. Rightfully so, she really captures your attention with her alluring voice and mysterious omnipresence; something that’s lacking in todays R&B music (if you want to call it that). With an industry and society that overly ’sexed up’ sometimes we all need to just chill out, right? It doesn’t hurt that your chillin’ with a beauty like Andreya either. Sit back and enjoy.

N.E.R.D. – Help Me (Live in London)

N.E.R.D.  recently performed  a new song  ”Help Me” from their up and coming album Nothing (to be released in Sept.2010) in London.  With  a new record deal with Universal, its sounds as though N.E.R.D. is also venturing into a new direction musically. “Help Me” sounds more like a  late 60s – early 70s rock [...]

The Roots – How I Got Over (Video)

Its almost like The Roots can do no wrong. The Roots have entertained my eardrums and expanded my musical spectrum for years. This video is a full preview of the main title track for the How I Got Over album. Sounds like this album is already going to be a great journey.

Tef Poe – Show Stealers

Didn’t I tell you my city (St.Louis) had a gang of MC’s ready to blast off? One of em’ goes by the name of Tef Poe. If you don’t know much about this cat then this video will sum it up for you – Tef’s a Show Stealer. If the marching band energy and beat in this video doesn’t give you the push to get out your seat and bounce, then somethin’ must be wrong.

VH1’s Behind The Music: DMX

Earl Simmons aka DMX
From a early life riddled with drugs and violence to an even tougher life which was later filled with multiple visits to jail, a sporadic music career and countless other issues, we’re lucky that DMX is even alive today.
