The music world tends to work in a boom or bust cycle:  One style will be up, disappear and then become recycled through with a new generation.  The fusion of R&B and rap has been a tenous one, wrought with people that could sing or rap, but not both.  Personally, I think that the a style that tried to do this, New Jack Swing, was unfairly derided for trying to bridge the gap back in the 90's.  Drake, fresh from Toronto, CA, seems to be the reincarnation of the spirit of Teddy Riley, Bobby Brown, and the whole gang, but without all the fluff of that era.  I feel the world should check out this new disc of music from this up north, way up north import.  He has major industry cosigns, with Lil Wayne, Andreenna Mill, Mickey Factz, Trey Songz, and Lupe Fiasco on the disc.
