Here’s One For Experience

If there was any time for hip hop to try to adopt a radio format similar to classic rock, this would be it. The generational divide within hip hop just continues to widen and this would be the step that would make everyone in the hip hop nation happy. But unlike say , Aerosmith, there are still many artist from hip hop's golden age making music that is relevant to listeners right now. Sadat X is a prime example of this kind of artist. It's hard to believe that he's four albums into a solo career after his time in Brand Nubian and a jail stint. His skills as an MC may have even improved at this point, although the beats on his newest release, Generation X, makes no concessions to the current sound scape. I had a short talk with Sadat, but the tape was literally destroyed in the wash. But the amazing thing about Sadat is that he doesn't express any rancor with the younger generation, which I took as an expression of wisdom. He actually was excited about things that were going on and his own record. Check out Sadat's at to get a preview of Generation X and a vets perspective.
