Aw man, I do what I can… If I’m not picking up my son from school or changing my daughter’s poopie diaper, I’m working on art.

Arize: Besides graffiti what other medium do you work in?
My main calling has always been pen and ink… so a lot of black and white drawing, I call them “Page Killas”…the goal being that when I’m done there is as much black on the page as there is white. I also spend a lot of time on the computer and I’m a real Photoshop geek, so I like coloring the drawings in Photoshop, which takes just as long as drawing them. I dabble in lots of things though, I paint canvases, I make block prints…

Arize: So give us a lil bio of Sonny Wong…
Well, Sonny Wong is a thirty-something kid at heart that has always chased his dream of never growing up (completely) and enjoying life. I’m addicted to graffiti, rap, and samurai movies. Currently I make my bread doing graphic design, which is dope cuz I can stay home with my wife and kids and drink beer and work.

Bro, beer is a beautiful thing, I like cheap beer… quantity before quality! I think I was tainted by that Doors song that goes “I woke up this morning and I got myself a beer”… Then I found out that beer was more than just a breakfast food…

Arize: Big ups to the Cali graffiti movement! What else is poppin in Cali these days?
I live up in the utmost northern part of California, in Humboldt County… It’s pretty remote, but there is a dope hip hop scene here… its like the old school punk rock days, I’m in a crew called The Dirty Rats, and we play shows with other cats in the local scene as well as open for bigger cats when they roll through like Redman, GZA, Vast Aire… I love Cali though, especially the northern portion, In the summer I can go hiking deep into the wilderness, swim in the clearest of creeks, fish… all that shit!

Arize: Before we leave, what are you bumpin right now in your car?
Lately its been MF DOOM, Jay Z, and Wu Tang.
