presents the next generation of

Illustration and Graphics

From October 18th to October 26th the ILLUSTRATIVE, 4th forum of illustrative an graphic arts, will take place in the Zurich Messehallen.

The ILLUSTRATIVE, created in 2006 by Pascal Johanssen and Katja Kleiss in Berlin, is the only art forum worldwide which brings together latest tendencies and the entire width of illustrative and graphic arts in one exhibition.

Illustrative art is fresh, humorous, easily accessible:
the scope of works displayed on the ILLUSTRATIVE reaches from psychedelic wall painting and erotic Neo-Pop-Art over monumental town views to drawings of almost photo-realistic acuity. The special sensitivity for artistic quality and the mix of analogue and digital techniques give the special progressiveness to the illustrative arts. This is decisively influencing the development of contemporary art since a while.

The latest ILLUSTRATIVE has expanded in comparisons to former years. It now includes a central exhibition, section exhibitions, temporary workshops, and a forum for presentations and conferences.

The exhibition

The main exhibition features over 400 works by 35 artists and presents an all international overview, presenting all facets of illustrative art. The main display features well-known artists as German illustrators Olaf Hajek and Martin Haake, Spanish comic-artist Jorge Fabian Gonzales Varela, French draughtsman Frédéric Coché, Californian painters as Eric Sandberg, Vincet Hui and Edwin Ushiro or Japanese Motion-Graphic-Artist Yoh Nagao. The main Display will be complemented by an exhibition featuring the 20 best junior artists, nominated for the “Yong Illustrators Award” by an international jury. The award-winning works will represent the latest trends and styles of this genre in the section exhibition.
