New Music–Christian Rich–Chicago Go-Getters

When you see Christian Rich you think hip hoppers or hipsters, but a second look can unveil fashion connoisseurs with expensive taste in fashion and music. But a listen to their music screams pop or electronica. With comparisons to Daft Punk, Gym Class Heros, Pharrell Williams and even the Beatles, these champions are on their way to ground breaking success. The two are identical in features with Christian providing lead vocals and Rich on the beats and assisting with the raps. They were raised by their Nigerian parents on the northside of Chicago by the way of Lagos, Nigeria.

As music producers they found success early in their careers. They landed their first placement at 19 years old with Lil' Kim on the La Bella Mafia album (2003) with the street induced "Get in touch with us" featuring Styles P of the Lox. Then they provided the street anthem "I'm Serious" by the Clipse on the Cradle to the Grave Soundtrack (2004). As success quickly came the boys began to write their own songs and trying new ideas. After producing for a few more artists including Foxy Brown, Young Gunz and others they decided to start taking the artist role more serious. They moved to New York in early 2004 and found themselves still producing for others. Determined and focused, they moved down to Atlanta in 2006 and began work on their EP titled "The Shit" (2007). While working on their EP they still managed to produce a few records for other artist including Lil' Kim again with "Queen Bitch 101" for the Whoo Kid hosted Mix tape "Ms. G.O.A.T" (2007). Then they co-produced the banger "Get up, Get down" (2008) by DTP/Def Jam artist Willy Northpole.

Their EP "The Shit" has been receiving great reviews from bloggers and fans alike. But one look at their live shows and you see why the word is spreading fast about Christian Rich. Their show features a live string quartet, a drummer, a DJ and a synthesizer player. They complete the look with tuxedos, a pair of Japanese denims and Supra sneakers to match. The main attraction and crowd favorite is "Famous Girl". The song's electrifying strings and synthesizers coupled with a falsetto hook makes it worth a listen. But for the hipsters they went back to their early hip hop memories and created the addictive songs "The Schemer" and "Karl Kani". Both songs are drum heavy with what appears to be a synthesized young woman rapping the choruses. The lyrics and delivery are superb with line after line of comical yet realistic tales of women, early '90s fashion and self indulgence. Their newest song, which is not available on their EP, is "Morning Dew", which boast a similar formula to The Beatles.

With their background as producers, crowd pleasing performances and addictive songs Christian Rich is set to make a lane in the music world that does not involve your typical roads. Keep an eye out for these Chicago go- getters!
