Arize: How did the decision to split from X-Quisite come up and are you happier now that you're a solo artist?
Well the decision for the group to re-place members was a mutual decision, the company behind us had different plans for us girls and we were just looking out for our best interest. I think it benifited us all the other girls and I are doing great with their careers decisions, we all still talk. So no love lost.

Arize: How did hooking up with Big Black Lincoln and Saukrates and how do those two affect your sound as an artist, especially Saukrates and his near legendary status in Canada?
Well I first met Sauks when I was about 12 or 13 we did a bit of work together. But nuthing to serious. After I left X-Quisite, Capitol Hill hollered at me and its been a wonderfull process since then. Working with Sauks is...well I dont even consider it work we sit down vibe. He's a great teacher. The other dudes in BBL T.R.A.C.K.S of IRS, Agile of Brassmunk Ro Dolla and Shakari Nyte are also mad talented so being able to sit in their sessions during the creation of the album Heaven's Caught On Fire was amazing. I had the oppertunity to sit back learn a tonne of shit about perfecting my craft as well as be a part of a fresh new sound.

"Demographically we have a smaller population of hip hop/R&B listeners in Canada so its harder to break through here first."

Arize: You grew up with a musician for a father and went to a performing arts school. How did these early experiences with music shape your growth as an artist?

My father was the one who helped me break outta my shell, I tend to be shy somtimes and he really showed me not to be afraid to express yourself thru your talent. Going to an art school was an experiance that allowed me to work with other young up and coming performers, dancers, artist. So you learn alot from your friends just hearing what they love hate and your able to bounce ideas back and forth. Learn to expand your expression with the more abilty you gain.

Arize: Your music is a full embodiment of hip hop and soul, with neither lacking from being combined with the other. How do you think you were able to better assimilate† the two styles of music better than other artist?
uhhh...well I wouldn't say I do it better, I would just say I do it the way I want it to be done. The producers I'm surrounded by also had a clear understanding of what we wanted this record to consist of. And when they realized we wern't doing the same ol things they all stepped up to the plate with some dope music to write and build on.

Arize: If you were to be compared to three artists, past or present, who would you want them to be and why?
I don't really compare myself to anyone but any artist that has influenced me you'll kinda hear it in my music at times....Huge fan of the late great Aaliyah, Stevie Wonder and SWV to name a few.

"The same feelin I get when I listen to an Etta, Jimi, Brandy or whoever are the same feelings that I want listeners to get from my music."

Arize: Which do you think is harder, being a female artist or a Canadian artist? Why do you think both of these groups have trouble breaking through in hip hop?
I think that we've only encountered issues with Canadian female artist once you start looking at the ones that represent the urban culture. Celine Dion Avril Lavigne ect. have made names for them selves. When it comes down to hip-hop and R&B I think we're still have problems accepting the fact that we are as talented as our american counterparts. Demographically we have a smaller population of hip hop/R&B listeners in Canada so its harder to break through here first. But I think we're starting to come around and show more support. Because alot of us are proving we got what it takes to swim with the "Big Fish'' :)

Arize: What do you want your listeners to gain from your music? What does making your music do for yourself?
Making music has always helped me release my anger, passion, joy, frustrations. The same feelin I get when I listen to an Etta, Jimi, Brandy or whoever are the same feelings that I want listeners to get from my music. Music you can feel inside and out. Not just another numb lovey dovey long song.

Arize: So whats the name of the new album and why did you name it that?
I am so undecisive so right now I have 2 names....still trying to see what side im leaning on more...but as soon as I know, ya'll will :)
